With the world continuously shifting in and out of lockdowns, most of us have had enough spare time dedicated to reading, with a few gambling eBooks making it to the top of the readers’ wish lists.

The unprecedented global situation has had a lasting effect on the way we do things. Even some of our more regular routines, such as visiting our favourite land-based casinos, has become a thing of the past.  Luckily, other activities, such as reading books, have managed to fill the gaps left by the challenging conditions outside.

If you are a fan of gambling, you are naturally on the lookout to hone your skills.  This means that you are most likely looking for literature to boost your gambling performance.  With so many eBooks on the topic available, we have narrowed the list down to a few that we think you should add to your library.

1. Sharp Sports Betting

Stanford Wong’s Sharp Sports Betting has undergone several reprints and additions since it was first published in 2001. The readers love this book for two main reasons. Firstly, the author provides a broad overview of sports gambling, which is helpful. Secondly, the book is well-written and easy to read, allowing both novices and seasoned bettors to relate to it.

Sharp Sports Betting discusses the logic, mathematics, and statistics behind sports betting. The book also covers prop bets, parlays, teaser bets, and online betting.  For those interested in betting on football, the author discusses NFL data and games. Wong uses data to explain the practices and theories involved with sportsbooks. Spreads and odds charts are also NFL-related. Many readers classify Sharp Sports Betting as the Bible of sportsbooks.

2. More Casino Gambling Made Easier

This is Gayle Mitchell’s second book in the series. The first book was top-rated, and we suggest you read it as well. In the second book, Mitchell covers several topics. Firstly, she discusses the ten worst bets a player can make. Then, she debates how not to get caught up in betting. The book also catalogues the finest places to gamble globally and what games you should play there.

Mitchell rose up the gambling ranks as an amateur. Today, she is the author of several gambling-related books.  In these books, she lays out strategies in a way that beginners can comprehend and discusses some promising gambling approaches using illustrations and charts for each casino game.

3. Winning at the Casino

This aptly titled book contains some great strategies. The author, W. Scott Warner, is a former croupier and pit boss of a Vegas casino and knows what he is talking about. The book has become popular amongst gamblers because Warner wrote it in simple language.

Warner also discusses how to play well online. Additionally, unlike many other casino authors, he doesn’t limit himself solely to poker strategies. Instead, he discusses all the casino games, including roulette, craps, baccarat, and blackjack.

4. Picking Winners: A Horseplayer’s Guide

Want to read a definitive book about picking winners at the track? Picking Winners: A Horseplayer’s Guide has been a bestseller since it was first published in 1994. Author Andrew Beyer’s handicapping style is unique and original.

Beyer demonstrates to the reader how to make the best decisions at the track. He compares horses and analyses them, using examples to illustrate various points. Also, if there’s a specific type of race you are looking for, you don’t need to read all the chapters.

5. Trading Bases

This book is both popular and very entertaining. The author, Joe Peta, is a former Wall Street dealer who decided to dabble in sportsbooks. He ultimately quit his job to make money by betting on baseball games. While the book does discuss statistics, data, and how to wager on baseball, it’s also very much an autobiography.

The author makes many comparisons between Wall Street and betting on baseball. Many writers covering this subject would usually flatter themselves with plumped up detail about their great successes. However, Peta doesn’t gloss over things. In fact, he makes sure you understand that gambling on sports has both its rewards and risks. He also discusses in-depth how to analyse games for risk before you bet.
