The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has been named one of Canada’s best employers for 2022 by Forbes.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has shared some exciting news, revealing that it’s made the cut on Forbes’s best Canadian employer 2022 list. This is the first time that the Crown corporation appears on the list, meaning that it’s viewed as one of the top 20 per cent of companies that employ over 500 people in Canada.
The OLG oversees quality gaming services in Ontario within a safe and regulated environment. The corporation manages land-based casinos, lottery, iGaming, bingo, and charitable gaming centres. Since 1975, the Crown corporation has brought over CA$55 billion to the provincial coffers from its gaming proceeds.
An Honour to Be Selected
OLG CEO, Duncan Hannay, commented that it is an honour for the corporation to secure a spot on Forbes’ best employers list. This is the first time OLG has made its way onto the best employers list, ranking 53rd out of 300 other companies. In his words, it was encouraging to learn that so many employees value and consider OLG as a great place to work. Hannay also urged every ambitious Ontarian to approach OLG for employment opportunities.
Hannay further pointed out that the Crown corporation is an exciting gaming and entertainment entity with a dynamic corporate culture that operates in a way that delivers unique service to its customers and provides economic growth within the province.
Forbes and Statista select Canada’s best employers through an independent survey distributed amongst 10,000 employees working for Canadian corporations with over 500 staff members. The grading is calculated based on staff recommendations reflecting their willingness to endorse their employer.
Nancy Kennedy, the senior vice-president of people and culture at OLG, noted that this award is unique since employees nominate it. Kennedy added that the company’s employees share OLG values, such as respect, support, co-worker cooperation, and celebration of different perspectives and backgrounds. According to her, this is what makes OLG a great place to work.
