Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has revealed enhanced accessibility and mobility features that will be implemented at its new Cascades Casino Delta.

Last week, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment released the overview plans for accessibility and mobility features that will be implemented at its new casino facility in Delta.  The new casino complex, named Cascades Casino Delta, is currently under construction.

Previously, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment noted that the venue would feature a 40,000 square-foot gaming floor which will accommodate 600 slot machines and 30 live table games. In addition to the casino, a hotel is also being built where guests that have travelled to the casino from afar can stay for the night. Numerous high-quality restaurants are also planned, where patrons can grab a bite.

Overview Presentation

Recently, reps of Gateway Casino & Entertainment did a presentation for the city’s Mobility and Accessibility Committee. In the presentation, the firm highlighted the accessibility features that will be implemented at the new Cascades Casino Delta. The gaming company said that it would take heed from the lessons learned at its Grand Villa property in Burnaby and adopt all recommendations suggested by the World Health Organisation.

In the presentation, Gateway Casino & Entertainment told the committee that the new casino would come with accessible parking bays, which will be near the entrance points. Additionally, there will be wheelchair ramps between parking levels and an accessibility ramp from the street level to the restaurant patio.

Moreover, the gaming conglomerate told the Mobility and Accessibility Committee that there would be wheelchair-accessible wickets at the cage, which will be installed at a lower height. The casino will also come with wheelchair-friendly bathroom stalls, wide spacing between slot machines, and trained first aid attendants on every shift.

The spokesperson for the casino assured that the corporation had taken utmost care to ensure that the facility would be more accessible regardless of individuals’ physical ability. According to Gateway Casino & Entertainment, the current design of the property anticipates that the property will be used by people with disabilities and a steadily ageing population.
