Thrilling Tuesday
As mentioned, Kolby Two Steps got the best time among the novice pacing males. He’s Watching tracked the late-loose leader Kays Writer, securing a winning spot when pacesetter Ivory Hanover swung wide and backed across the field. Bob McClure and trainer Luc Blais joined forces for the speediest mile by a freshman trotter when Star Power Hanover clocked the time of 2:01. The son of Wheeling N Dealing was placed fifth with a tempo of 31.1, 1:01.2, and 1:31.1 set by Bubba Louie, cruising with a time of :28.2 to win by 3-½ lengths ahead of Rose Run Xcaliber.
During the 11- event qualifiers, Lovin Julie recorded the fastest trotting mile by a two-year-old filly, with a time of 2:00. The mare set the pace with:30.1 in the first half and sat pocket to Gyre Hanover with three-quarters in 1:30, before bolting to a one-length victory.
