Relax Gaming Enters Ontario Regulated iGaming Market
Relax Gaming has announced its entry into Ontario’s newly launched iGaming market just days before its official commencement.
Days shy of the highly anticipated launch of Ontario iGaming and sports wagering market saw an official announcement from Relax Gaming about its decision to be part of the action. The renowned provider of the B2B gaming series has been given the go-ahead by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to participate in the new market.
So far, other gaming operators have made their way into the province’s new regulated market by obtaining the required permissions from the AGCO. The market officially commenced operations on Monday, 4 April 2022, with registered brands under the AGCO now legally offering their iGaming products to players from the province.
Relax Gaming believes in the potential of the Ontario gambling industry and expects to quickly assume pole position in yet another premium North American jurisdiction. The iGaming supplier shared that obtaining its license is a massive milestone for its continued expansion both locally and across North America.
The company is seen as a top brand for world-class gaming products and has garnered over ten global awards in 2021, as well as being nominated for new ones in 2022. It is expected that Relax Gaming will launch approximately 130 games aggregated from 16 of the company’s studio partners.
Alexia Smilovic Rønde, the chief regulatory officer at Relax Gaming, commented that the opening of Ontario’s regulated market is a turning point for the local gaming industry. According to her, the AGCO’s pragmatic approach and regulation will, over time, ensure good channelisation from all stakeholders in the province.
Smilovic Rønde added that the company is delighted to be part of this journey from its very start. Further, she remains confident that the company’s portfolio and the selection of partners under its regulatory umbrella will make an instant positive impression with their entry into Ontario’s iGaming sector.
