GAN Limited, a US-based online gambling provider, announced that it plans to launch its services in Ontario.

Last week, GAN Limited, a leading US internet gaming software provider, announced it would launch its offering in Ontario.  GAN will be teaming up with an undisclosed sportsbook and currently awaits regulatory approvals before joining the local Gaming market.

GAN Limited is an industry-pioneering B2B supplier of online gaming software-as-a-service solutions primarily to US brick-and-mortar casinos. Now, the company is determined to expand into Canada, with Ontario on schedule to open a competitive iGaming market for private operators by March of 2022.

Exploring New Markets and Opportunities

Through a wholly-owned subsidiary, GAN Ontario, the gaming leader plans to become a part of the new Ontario iGaming scene.  The next step is for the subsidiary to apply for the required licences and get approval from iGaming Ontario. The company believes it can acquire the licence needed to operate in the new market despite the fierce competition.

Dermot Smurfit, the CEO of GAN Limited, commented on the company’s plans to join Ontario’s iGaming market by partnering with an unnamed sportsbook. Smurfit shared that the corporation was happy to sign its first B2B client in the province since they were working on acquiring a market license for a few months.

Smurfit elaborated that the company had to make an announcement due to the nature of the cooperation and the necessary operational disclosures needed to be provided to third-party suppliers of content, payments, and other technical services. Smurfit remains optimistic about the future of the local iGaming industry and is pleased to link up with a tier-one operator as a partner.

The disclosure that the partner is a tier-one operator narrows down the list of potential providers to three companies: DraftKings, FanDuel, or BetMGM. Currently, all bets are on FanDuel, which is already a GAN partner, and the company already operates several online casinos on behalf of FanDuel across various states.
