Cash Me Out shone brightly at the Saratoga horseracing oval last week, snatching victory at the open trot stakes.
The ten-year-old steed, Cash Me Out, again demonstrated its dominance of the tracks at the local open trot stakes hosted by the Saratoga Casino Hotel. The horse started at post eight and faced some serious opposition on its way to the finish line.
The event on Tuesday saw the horse record its 250th career start, and what better way to celebrate the occasion than by winning the competition. The former Trotter of the Year titleholder, who is owned by Mike Traylor and trained by Kyle Spagnola, has accumulated over US$1,3 million in career-long earnings after reaching its 67th victory.
Impressive Win
At last Tuesday’s event at the Saratoga Casino Hotel, Cash Me Out recorded its second win in a row, adding to a total of eight wins this season. Starting from post eight, the trotter enjoyed a strong start and led within the first quarter with a time of :27.2. Then, in the second quarter, driver Phil Fluet gave him a rest, reaching the halfway line in :57.2.
Cash Me Out managed to resist a challenge from Gettin Messi before the final turn and held off the crowd favourite, Bridge Works, ending up with a winning time of 1:55.2, which is subsequently the best result at the track this season.
Cash Me Out is the former Trotter of the Year at Saratoga Casino Hotel and remains, once again, the favourite for this season’s award. The horse began the race with nine-to-one odds, and it paid US$21.20 with its victory. Bridge Works came second with a return of US$61, while Gettin Messi finished third with US$303. Live racing at the venue resumed on Wednesday, with the matinee at noon EDT.
