First dates can often be challenging, especially in Las Vegas, where the dating scene is overwhelmingly geared towards casual hookups.

Las Vegas might sound like an ideal place to take your beloved one on a date, but that is not always the case.  Regretfully (or not!), Sin City holds a dishonourable title of one of the top one-night-stand capitals of the world, which might instantaneously put a damper on your starry-eyed plans.  Nevertheless, there are still plenty of quiet little spots ideal for getting to know that special someone a little better.

Here are a few popular romantic ideas in Sin City for you to try:

High Tea

If you are into a quintessentially English cultural experience, taking your date for a high tea is a good choice.  For her first date, any sophisticated girl would appreciate an afternoon tea at the Mandarin Oriental.  Located in the heart of The Strip, the Mandarin Oriental is a chic spot with a tea salon on its 23rd floor that serves classic English-style afternoon teas.  There isn’t a better way to get to know someone than over servings of neatly cut sandwiches and yummy bite-sized confectionery.

Romantic Dinner

If you can’t stretch your budget and take your date to the city of love itself, why not enjoy the next-best-thing at Paris Las Vegas’s Eiffel Tower Restaurant.  Enjoy panoramic views of The Strip and Bellagio fountains through full-length windows as you savour a world-class gourmet meal.  You won’t fail to impress.

Casual Coffee

When you are serious about someone, there’s no better way to get to know them than over a hot cup of organic coffee.  Take your special other to Sunrise Coffee, where you can find out everything that you need to know about each other before heading across the street for a walk in Sunset Park, complete with ducks, geese, swans, and a beautiful pond.  What could be more romantic?

Sweets for my Sweet

The way to a girl’s heart is through a sweet treat, so why not arrange your first rendezvous at the Hexx Kitchen + Bar.  This restaurant, located at the Paris Las Vegas hotel, offers chocolate-making classes that allow you to sample your tasty confectionery creations.  Afterwards, make your way to the patio for drinks and snacks while you admire the Bellagio fountains.

Cheers to Us!

Although it is hard to believe that a place as dry as Las Vegas can have a wine estate, it is a thing!  The Pahrump Valley Winery has a gorgeous estate that is beautiful to explore with a special girl, and there is also an upmarket steakhouse on the property that boasts striking mountain views.  Enjoy a cosy dinner with a bottle or two of the local wine and have a lovely experience.

Take a Gondola Ride

It might be cheesy and cliched, but who wouldn’t be impressed with a romantic gondola ride?  Even if you can’t afford to jet off to Venice with your dream date, you can still ride the canals between the Venetian and Palazzo.  Float dreamily under the bridges while enjoying a serenade from a gondolier – an unforgettable first date experience.

Have a Magical Experience

Should you be looking for something a bit different for your first date, head on down to The Strip and embark on a magical experience.  As the world’s capital of magic shows, you’re bound to come across a thrilling performance, whether you go with a classic or something new and cutting edge.  Otherwise, if you can afford it, head off to a Cirque de Soleil show.  Although relatively expensive, these shows offer a great way to spend a few hours with some top-notch entertainment.

Dating on a Budget

For those with shallower pockets, head on over to Bellagio, where you can walk hand in hand through the botanical gardens and the conservatory without having to pay a cent.  After that, you can watch the iconic fountains, also for free.  If your budget permits, take your date to the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art and check out the exhibits that have arrived there from museums from across the globe.
